Conference: What role can nuclear energy play in the energy transition?

Energy is the major challenge of the 21st century. It is the raw material of the global economy, it is highly dependent on geopolitics, and it has a strong influence on the climate. The energy transition consists in undertaking a total changeover from a fossil-fuel society to a low-carbon society, enabling human activities to become carbon neutral. Countries can rely on three pillars to achieve their energy transition. These are energy efficiency, sobriety in consumption and electrification of uses, using low-carbon primary energy sources such as renewable energies and nuclear power.
