Tarik Laghmich

Tarik Laghmich holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Systems Engineering, and a diploma in Business Management. He has extensive experience in launching and developing projects with several technical aspects and meeting specific needs, linked to energy efficiency and renewable energies. He worked at the International University of Rabat, Morocco, as an engineer in the Department of R&D valorization and technology transfer to industry. In this capacity, he holds several patents, and has contributed to several projects in solar energy, wind power and sustainable mobility, from the design phase through to industrialization and sales. He is currently President of Thermo Transcal inc., which specializes in the design and manufacture of innovative tubular heat exchangers. He is also President of Envert Inc. which develops projects to convert waste into low-carbon alternative fuels.

How to make waste-to-energy conversion more ecological and profitable?

Over 82% of the plastic waste generated in North America – some 34 million tonnes – ends up in landfill every year. It would be highly relevant if we could convert these non-recyclable plastics into a low-carbon footprint alternative fuel, and use it as a resource for combustion, heating, mobility, or to manufacture new products; with an efficient and cost-effective technique. This will give us a circular economy for plastic and other waste, generate a lot of wealth, limit climate change and protect the environment for future generations. To this end, Envert Inc. has co-developed a highly efficient and cost-effective ecological process. It’s a technology based on Cold Catalytic Conversion (CCC).
