Innofibre – Centre d’innovation des produits cellulosiques is a college center for technology transfer (CCTT) whose vision is to be recognized as a key player in the implementation of the bioeconomy. Innofibre supports the innovation and diversification of products derived from biomass, and adapts paper technologies for innovative processes. Innofibre has specialized analysis laboratories and pilot facilities that are unique in North America. Our partners can count on a multidisciplinary team to meet their needs and carry out applied research mandates. The Innofibre team works on the development of environmentally-friendly packaging and decarbonation. More specifically, the team is working to replace single-use plastic packaging with recyclable or compostable products, and to use different cellulosic raw materials. On the decarbonation side, Innofibre is involved in projects in the bioenergy sector, including biomass heating, pyrolysis (biochar) and gasification. Innofibre is also equipped to analyze atmospheric emissions. We offer technical assistance and training to help our customers solve problems and find solutions. In 2024, Innofibre will expand its range of services and equipment with the construction of a new biobased products hub to meet the growing demand for biomass conditioning and thermochemical conversion of packaging.
