Engineer SupOptique and Doctor in Physics, Yann Le Coq is a Research Engineer at CNRS. He works at the LNE-SYRTE laboratory located at Paris Observatory, where he studies and develops with his colleagues the next generations of atomic clocks. These are based on frequency references from hyper-netroite atomic transitions in the optical domain, and use laser-cooled and trapped atoms. His work focuses more specifically on ultra-stable lasers and frequency combs, essential components of these optical atomic clocks. Since 2018, he has been leading the Laboratory of Excellence and the FIRST-TF Research Federation, a national networked structure strong of 25 academic laboratories and more than sixty industrials, which focuses on coordinating R&D activities in France in the Time-Frequency domain.
