Romain Ligneul
Researcher in neuroscience

Former student of the École Normale Supérieure, Romain Ligneul is a researcher in neuroscience in Lisbon (Center for the Unknown, Fondation Champalimaud). After a thesis at the Marc Jeannerod Institute (Lyon, CNRS) during which he worked on the perception of probabilities in pathological gamblers, he studied the neurocognitive mechanisms involved in exploratory behaviors and in the capacity of humans to evaluate the control they have over their environment. This work has progressively led him to question the formalization of the concepts of causality and chance in cognitive sciences.
