Ciel et Espace is Europe’s leading French-language magazine devoted to the sciences of the Universe, astronomy and space news, and the hobby of observing the sky. Published by the Association Française d’Astronomie (AFA) since 1947, it is run by a team of professional science journalists. It publishes nine issues a year and publishes news from the field on its website. It organizes symposia and conferences during the Rencontres du ciel et de l’espace, and works in partnership with the AFA to produce observation and discovery trips, as well as the famous Nuits des étoiles, which attract millions of people every year during the shooting star showers at the beginning of August. It produces podcasts and videocasts, and is involved in all operations that promote the free and disinterested discovery of the results of astronomical research, as well as the practice of leisure discovery in nature.
